Celebrate Recovery

Celebrate Recovery is a 12-step recovery program designed to help men and women find freedom from the hurts, habits, and hang-ups that consistently derail our relationship with God and with other people. The purpose of Celebrate Recovery is to encourage fellowship and to celebrate God’s healing power in our lives as we work our way along the road to recovery. Here, we find freedom from our addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional behaviors. It is through this freedom that we find serenity, joy, and the direction to recover the relationship that God longs to have with each of us.

Celebrate Recovery meets every Thursday night at 6:00pm (except holidays), in the Youth Center of Christ United Methodist Church. Please park on the south side of the church and enter through the Youth entrance (patio area with “Youth” posted on the brick wall above the entrance).

Prayer Ministry

Prayers & Squares Quilts

Quilts are hung in the prayer room. A knot is tied in the threads on the quilt to represent a prayer you have made. When all threads are knotted, the quilt is presented to the recipient who is literally "covered in prayer". To request a quilt, fill out the request care in the prayer box beside the prayer room.

Prayer Room Intercessors Ministry

Volunteers commit to a special hour each week when they will come to the Prayer Room to pray for the requests that have been submitted during the week. Post cards are sent on behalf of the church to those prayed for to make them aware of the prayers, including any scripture that might encourage them.

Cancer Prayer Partners & Support

A volunteer is matched to a cancer patient to pray with them through treatment and recovery for one-on-one support.

Hedge Prayer Team

Each Sunday, volunteers go to the Prayer Room and pray for the pastors, worship leaders, and congregation during the worship service, covering every aspect of the service with a hedge of protection thru prayer. The commitment is for one month per year, 30 minutes during the worship service. The worship bulletin is a guide for your prayer.

We’re committed to helping everyone in our church take their next step of serving others with the hope and love of Jesus. If you’ve never served locally with Vertical before or you’d like to get reconnected, email
