Eddie Rester was born and raised in Ackerman, MS. After high school he attended Ole Miss where he majored in Psychology before going to seminary at Duke Divinity School. He finished his Doctorate in 2005 through George Fox University. Since returning from seminary in 1997 Eddie has served Parkway Heights UMC in Hattiesburg and Oxford University UMC in Oxford before coming to Christ United in 2022.

Eddie married his college sweetheart, Audra in 1997. They have two daughters, Sydney and Ann Claire, both at Ole Miss. He enjoys reading, yard work, watching ole miss sports. Eddie and Chris McAlilly, Lead Pastor of Oxford University UMC in Oxford host a podcast called The Weight.
